    Great post RB!

There has to be garlic involved and turning often is the key. Those little grids that hold about 4 sandwiches wook like a charm and hold everything together.

You okes are heretics damn !!!!!!

Cheese tomato and onion ( not those soggy damn tomatoes that look like a bottle of juice in a skin) some black pepper and salt. The standard of standards

Agreed woodfire toeknyp rooster and make sure bread doesnt stick to rooster. Thank goodness for wood I hate charcoal only place I use it is in Webber.

Butter outside :) allways outside if you fire temp is right bread crisps and gets a nice golden brown colour. No one will moan not even the mrs.

Now if you want to be adventurous try this on for size. Peanut butter and onion slices. I know I know grossssssss. Not. very niceeeeeeeeee.

I've been down under for 11 years now.

I still take pity on my fellow braai buddies when they sit there with only meat and a braaibroodjie. Bleak.

I don't mind their braaibroodjies for starters, but with my meat I need a decent portion of mieliepap and sous.

Well yes, but proper pap and sous takes 3 hours to build on the fire and sometimes you just don't have that time...or the bushveld atmosphere...or a group of friends to talk bollocks with :)

Please do not contaminate this thread with scandalous examples of your other-side-of-the-vaal-subculture. You guys introduced charcoal to the braai ... an unforgivable sin.
Comparing burnt mealie powder to the art of making braaibroodjies is almost as bad.
