Default New Competencies and Permits needed

Firstly, Well done to FBGC for getting the Ball rolling on the Compensation issue.

Now, we have been advised today that all Blackpowder Firearm owners will now need to get competency.
And, all silencers will now need to be licenced/ will need permits.

This is a load of sh1t!!!
A 500ml coke bottle can be used as a silencer on a .22, so how will they licence that?

Both these new laws has been confirmed by the Provincial DFO in the Eastern Cape.

    Interesting.........

These, if I recall, are contained in a 2006 Bill which has not been tabled in parliament, as far as I am aware.

Thus they are not law. Your DFO is misinformed. Ask him or her to refer you to the section in the principal act or and amendment act.

SSP: Our local Hunting Association found out about it and contacted the Provincial DFO about it.
He says that it is happening, so will have to wait and see. This only came about on Friday, so is still very new.

If they want to licence a silencer, then it will need a serial number.
Who will be paying to have all the silencers engraved with a serial number then....

The FCA Ammendment Act will require all Muzzleloader shooters to get a competency certificate. The Ammendment Act has been approved by Parliament but the regulations for it have not been finalised, approved or Gazzetted so the Ammendment Act is not yet in force. Any attempt by the DFO's to enforce it's provisions must simply be laughed off.

Can you imagine the bad guys trying to do a home invasion with a muzzle loader? hpy71 Gettysburg style!! Why can't they just focus on getting the application of the Act right, instead of trying to include muzzle loaders anc silencers? Idiots!!!

these okes are clearly a bunch of half arsed inbread morons, when last did anybody hear of a hijacking or murder being commited with a F$#*ing muzzle loader, one wonders if these assholes actually know what a muzzle loader is, why not focus on the INDIVIDUALS in the SAPS who manage to lose/(have stolen) their R5's and various other assult weapons, lets rather take the guns away from those bastards
