Musgrave .243 RSA action Mod: Vreistaat/Veld Bedding job......

Hi there all.

I own a mint condition Musgrave .243 rifle with an RSA action.
Presumably a Vreistaat or an Veld model.

I want to do an epoxy bedding on this rifle, and need some advice on what procedure and products to use, as well as what sections of action and barrel to bed.

Has anybody done a bedding job on such an rifle and to what degree of success?

Any help or info will be appreciated.

I want to do the bedding as a DIY project.
My location is Cape Town, if there is anybody nearby that could possibly show me the ropes of this process.

Hi Richard - why do you want to do this? I have exactly the same rifle as you - serial number v380 and I shoot it as is because no bedding job could possibly improve the accuracy of this rifle as it is. When I do my bit then my 3 shot groups all touch. I will not mess with it.

I have been advised by a reputable smith that it is required. I can also feel there is tension on the action when I relieve the action fasteners.
