That's interesting. With my rifle I need to remove the cheek piece and the recoil pad to get the cleaning rod in straight. But then again, mine is the AICS with the Rem700 action so maybe it sits lower in the chassis than what the AI does. Or do you clean from the muzzle?

1/4 turn of the 2 allen screws, the cheek piece comes off and from the pics you can see mine is not raised, so no issues getting back to its original position. long cleaning rod /with low profle/modded handle don't need to remove the recoil pad. having said that.....I'm looking to order a AT/AX in 6mm of sort next year. it will be a folder!! interestingly saw on some UK website, someone special ordered a fix AXCS.

Ruger Mini-14 Ranch Rifle with GI Tech Sight

Quality Hardware M1 Carbine (Early WWII configuration)

    Rockola M1 Carbine (Israeli configuration)

    Armalite AR-180B

HK SLB 2000 (my Tactical Fudd Rifle)

I'm planning on selling the C93 and AR-180B to fund other projects. But so far this is my collection of guns that aren't AKs or AR-15s. Not pictured here is my FN PS90 since that's in the SMG thread.

Nice bunch of rifles on this thread!

Bought my one and only FAL/L1A1-family rifle back in 2001 when a shipment of a few hundred Lithgow-built rifles popped in to the local civilian gun market. The rifles were rated by the importer from fair to excellent condition which affected pricing of an individual rifle, mine was rated "good", something in between fair and excellent. I paid for this rifle with an inch pattern 20 round magazine less than US$200, the excellent ones would have been about US$250-300. Note: this is the inflation adjusted value of the money I spent in 2001...

The rifle made was made in 1968 and to the best of my knowledge (i.e. serial number AD6809506) it was shipped to Singapore, alas it doesn't have any Singaporean markings I've seen on for example Singaporean police force issued weapons. The rifle has originally been a select fire version with all the bells and whistles still intact thus it could be considered to be a "machine gun".

The rifle looks like it has been carried along quite a lot in a drill field, plus it has got the obligatory armory-induced dings and dents, but the bore is impeccable and its internal parts fit to each other almost like components on a hand made Swiss pocket watch. The trigger breaks at about 1,5 kilos and after slight and careful polishing doesn't have any noticeable creep.

The rifle is a decent shot, 10 shot groups hang around 2,5-3 MOA depending on the batch of NATO surplus ammo.

Here it is in the early morning sunlight. The rifle is, excluding touch of an enhancement on the trigger group, unmodified and the furniture is all original, I do though occasionally apply some gun stock oil and wax for protection against harsh Finnish elements.

my shooting buddy and I decided to shoot our .338 LM's at the recent LR gong shoot (45 rnd count, 480m - 1019m).
could have gone with 6/6.5mm with less noise/drama....but we thought we never get the chance to shoot our 338s, so why not start the year with a big bang
2 man team comp. my partner was spotting for me hence rifle safe with bolt out.
