Default Hand to hand & weapons training

Hi folks, forgive me if this is in the wrong place, but the training section didnt seem to cover this neatly.

So now I have a FA, and am going to be doing some training with Big T for that, and hopefully keep it up long term.

I would however like to do the following as well a) buy a really nice SD EDC knife b) learn to use it effectively and c) learn more hand to hand SD skills.
Id like to become a Chuck Norris, but time, funds and lack of facial hair wont allow me that, but I would like to enrol in some type of on going training. I have done some Karate / MMA type stuff on a basic level pre 1994 (no political significance, just the year I finished school), and know of a few different disciplines but am not sure which I should pursue or where I should go. It doesn't have to be a martial arts school, just effective training.

Im am in the Fourways area and would like any advice on a) what type of training I should consider b) which trainer / school / institution I should consider c) what knife and where from.

Many thanks good people of Gunsite

You arelooking for something like Krav Maga. Contact Alan Mann from Elite Defense Academy. I know him personally and he is an excellent trainer. You can reach him on +27721359226.

In Pta I would suggest Warrior Sports in Centurion. Main coach is Trevor Clark.

There is a place in Faerie Glen, on Atterbury just before you get to Value Mart on the left.If I'm not mistaken the center is called Atterbury Boulevard.

I was doing my self defense at Idan from Golani in Centurion area, he is an Israeli and what he teach you is basically, self defense, close combat and anti terror. Go have a look, you won't regret it.
