Thoughts and feeling on the new Rule Book?
I was just wondering what everyone's thoughts and feeling are around the new rule book?
I am overall very happy with it. I think it clarifies a few of the more contentious issue such a cover.
I was very concerned that the new book might turn IDPA into IPSC lite - pleased this did not happen.

GG, where can this new rule book be perused? Will SADPA use the same new rules?

Re: Thoughts and feeling on the new Rule Book?
I think the new rules are OK, there haven't been any drastic changes, but there are a couple of inconsistencies. Like the whole pistol light issue. New rules governing the use of hand held lights are fine, but outlawing the use of pistol lights because it will become an equipment race and then saying cops with issued weapon light can shoot with them on their gun BUT ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THEM? This means they are getting the advantage of the weight, like the rulebook says it is trying to prevent and it prevents them from using the lights as intended.
There are some other examples of the rules not making any sense but this one is, as everyone here knows, closest to my heart.

Re: Thoughts and feeling on the new Rule Book?
Well from the feedback or rather lack of it we can conclude:
A. We have worked out that the Americans will do as they want without listening to the the vioce out of the Kalahari - so no point to commenting?
B. Everybody loves the new rules!! Oh, sorry with the exception of KBK (just kidding KBK)?
C. Everybody has had enough of this game - brought about by stationary reloads having now been mandated, and have all left the sport to go and shoot USPSA or play call of duty 4 which is closer to real world combat anyway?

Re: Thoughts and feeling on the new Rule Book?
I think from our perspective the rules are not that much different. We enforced them like written in the new book anyway.
I am very glad that they took out the 4 x finger call before DQ which was in the draft.
As a side note, of course Call of Duty 4 is the way to go for proper tactical training. Never before has there been such an accurate simulator for real world combat. I mean we all have full auto ACRs with heart beat sensors on and everyone knows that going guns akimbo is the way to go

Glad they got rid of round dumping
Glad you can start a reload out of cover
Don't get stationary reloads behind cover.
Find it amusing that in the "real shooting sport" my EDC holster is still illegal.
Otherwise not much has really changed.
Would like to have seen a O points down box added to the head surrounded by a -3 box
