Importing Guide Rod Laser
Lasermax has recently launched their Green Guide Rod Laser. It will probably take some time to hit our shores. I was wondering if one could import it privately. I see there are quite a few online stores in the U.S. that sell it, but I was just wondering if there might be any problems importing such an item. My understanding is that since it's not a major firearm component, only a spring and a laser, there shouldn't be any issues. I just want to get some opinions on this. Has anyone imported similar items before?

Re: Importing Guide Rod Laser
Had a Lasermax in my G23 for a good number of years, bought it before ITAR came into effect, as far as I'm aware it is ITAR listed. I think ITAR covers any laser devices. Great piece of kit if you can get it and have the money. Dave sheer was selling them for around 6k last I checked.

Re: Importing Guide Rod Laser
These are strictly ITAR controlled. A lot of trouble if caught without the necessary permits.
As the Lasermax agents, we will be ordering some of the new ones, but bear in mind the time it takes to get the permit, and the high exchange rate.

Re: Importing Guide Rod Laser
I found them for a good price ($399) on https://www.glockstore.com/guide-rod...aser-for-glock . They even give 10% discount on orders over $150. So it's about $360 a piece after the discount excl. shipping. I want one badly. R4000 is do-able, but R6k is a little steep.
At what price can you provide them DSG?

Buy ammo and professional training instead.

the glory of the great dead.

Re: Importing Guide Rod Laser
So add some money for the permits and paperwork. (Unless you want to do it illegally, and end up on the State Dept denied person's list) Then about 10% for transport, then 7% ad-velorum, 14% vat on the total (increased by 10% by customs) duties and clearance. Then add a little markup for a retailer. What do YOU come to?
Glockstore is prohibited from exporting it anyways.

Re: Importing Guide Rod Laser
I was using laser (lasergrip) on my Glock. It may have some very limited advantage in a very limited circumstances. Once you go to a proper training you will notice that the laser actually slows you down. Nice gadget, though and looks cool
In the nutshell: what SSP said above.

Re: Importing Guide Rod Laser
I have one for my 23 tried using it at night, what a waste of time. Trying to keep it on target whilst moving is very difficult and confusing. The smallest movement of your firearm, results in a big movement on the target. That plus the chance of it falling apart, and rendering the firearm useless, now it just lies in my safe, and will not see the inside of 23 again. If You are looking for something for SD go Tritium.
