458 Socom on AR platform

Interested in the 458 Socom on AR, where to get one? Wilson combat makes uppers etc. As do a few others.

I guess it would have to be an import or special order. Maybe one of the bigger gun shops can help.

You might be able to import, but you will be looking at some HUGE $$$$ and then we not even talking about ammo, mags, spares etc.

It would be great if we got them here.

Anybody knows if Wilson combat has a local distributor? The upper and barrel is less than $1000, the mags etc is standard AR.

where would you even get brass for it? not mention bullets.

Its standard .458 cal, there is a selection locally, may even turn em on the lathe. Barns makes commercially. GS customs make .458 as well. Starline makes them brass, can import a bunch. It uses standard rim diameters, may even fireform suitable other brass to creat what is needed.

Talk to the guys at mtst I have seen a couple pieces of brass there.

thanx Pistolboy. Also possible to use 425 Wesley Richards brass as parent cases, they are available locally.

Had no idea what 458 Socom was (had heard of it, but wasn't sure). After Google-ing it, must say, that is a monster round for a semi
