EIBAR Double barrel shotgun

Hi, mine name is Anton and I have an old Eibar shotgun. I would like to sell it but does not have an idea of its value. Is there perhaps specific markings that can identify it as one of the originals from Spain and then also where would be the best place to advertise it in the Western Cape. Thanks.

I know someone with one of those shotguns, we tried to value it our selves just out of interest, we were not very successful.

Eibar is not a manufacturer's name but a place in northern Spain. The five manufacturers of shotguns that there are there are: Aguirre y Aranzabal (AyA), Arrieta y Cia, Pedro Arrizabalaga, Armas Garbi, and Grulla Armas.

As to value… Who knows?

I heard a story that Eibar guns were made/assembled by a bunch disgruntled workers at AyA who did not get their wage increase demands met.

If you upload a pic we could possibly give you a better guesstimate on price.

Google had some info on this shotgun and I attach a picture from there as it is similar to mine. Although it can be a place in Spain, that is the name on the gun and my licence.

Depending if they are Side Lock or Box Lock the value will be higher or lower.

I paid R3500 for a old double barrel .410 in very good condition from a dealer in the first half of 2016. Also just marked Eibar with no specific manufacturers name. I felt the price was fair for what I got and would probably have paid a bit more to get my hands on it, but not much.
