Thanks for the all the suggestions, it is much appreciated.

I read as many reviews as I could find on the Vortex and the general consensus was it is excellent value for money, great after sale service and above all a great scope.

Went by our local gunshop and bought me a Vortex Viper 4-16 HS LR. I handed my competencies in on Monday, so now I just have to wait.

The salesman at the shop was also more than happy with their Thor bases and rings, so I will settle on them as well.

Not discarding the Nikon Monarch BDC series as well. Good value for money on that range of scopes

Just my 2c. A budget scope does not belong on a R23 000 Sendero. That rifle was manufactured with accuracy in mind.

I received an email today from Safari and Outdoor that is advertising a HUGE sale on scopes, binoculars and rangefinders. Phone them and ask them to send you the email. There are some really good bargains in the email.

I tend to agree with you, however, I paid less than half of the R23k of a new one, so I'm spending the same on a scope, bases and rings than I did on the rifle. Then again, R10k is not a "budget" buy for me.

Would a top end scope in the region of R20 - 30k offer 2 - 3 times what the Vortex does? I'm rather confident the scope (and rifle) would far outperform my own capabilities.

^^^^ you will do fine with that combo! The sendero is a great rifle, with little recoil compared to other 300's I' ve shot.

Hope you get your Liksens shortly!
