Kem-'ba-tiv Knife (by Kelly McCann) ... My Impressions/Review!

Good Evening,
Although I have followed Kelly McCann's work quite close for some time now, this is the first DVD that I have viewed in it's entirety (and it will definately NOT be the last!)

First off, let me say that Kelly McCann is one of the individuals who have made it to my top-list of Personal Defense instructors - A consummate professional with a 'No-Nonsense' approach to offensive and protective combat.

Kelly McCann's 'Kem-'ba-tiv Knife' is a simplistic study of the manner in which he uses his folding knife combatively - As the title of the DVD suggests, it is indeed 'A Minimalist Knife Curriculum for Defense Under Duress'! ... It is a 65 minute production which will NOT provide you with anything fancy or flashy, just down right effective techniques that are guaranteed to save your life when all other options have been exhausted.

I think it is a superb production, direct to the 'point' and very easy to use!

The various sections and concepts covered include (but are not limited to):
- Different types of knives, pros and cons of each type
- Protective equipment for knife fight training
- Folding knife deployment
- Forward and Reverse Guard
- Deployment under duress
- The Guard position and footwork
- 'In Quartata'
- Fending, swaying and hollowing
- Angles (a very different take on what you may be used to)
- Cutting/thrusting (Vertical and horizontal)
- Blade blocking
- Trapping the arm
... and lots of humor too hpy194

For all those that carry a folding knife for defensive purposes on a daily basis (which would be most of us) I highly recommend this superb instructional DVD - A very worthwhile and life-saving investment indeed fighting0035
