    Default Kobra by Deon Meyer?

I started reading Kobra in Afrikaans.

What a surprise - in first few pages:

    "Glock 17 Gen4"

    "Cor-Bon 45 ACP +P"

Here is an author that is keeping up with what is new and some technically correct descriptions and good detail.

    why are you surprised ?
if any "group" of people that know , it should be the Afrikaaner

Just as long as he wasn't saying the two are related ;) (I mean the G17 and .45, not guns and Afrikaaners)

What makes his books so nice is if you know Cape Town.

I do not like reading Afrikaans, for some obscure reason I find it very melodramatic usually. But might give this a shot then.

Deon Meyer's stuff is always worth a read. He does his research very well, from the bikes to the cars to the places to the guns. I really rate him as a writer.

    +1.

Great reads, all of his books.

No the Glock and ammo is not related iro gun/ammo.

I bought my copy fom Amazon/Kindle. Some/most of his books are available in English and German.

I like reading it in Afrikaans and seeing some of my favourite words being used by the caracters, like "fokkol", fok", "stront" etc.
