Coastal Dwellers and Moisture Control
For all of you that are in the fortunate position the be a Coastal Dwellers, how do you control the issue of Moisture Control in your safe and storage areas for your firearms and other related accessories? Yes, making sure that all metal is protected by oil or some other protective coating, what do you do in regard to Primers (other than keeping them in the original packaging)?
I recently got one of those moisture control bags with the crystals in and I chucked it in my safe. It was there for a about 4-6 weeks and I was shocked to see that it has turned to complete gel in this period of time. I stay in PE and I know the moisture is high but was amazed by this.
Any solutions that you care to share?

Re: Coastal Dwellers and Moisture Control
Remington makes several moisture management devices http://www.remington.com/products/ac...humidifier.asp which I use and it works and it's re-usable
and this other model http://www.remington.com/products/ac...humidifier.asp
and also their Moisture Guard Products http://www.remington.com/products/ac...technology.asp
For firearms and knives Marine Tuf-Cloth has an excellent rep see Sentry Solutions http://www.sentrysolutions.com/welcome.shtml and this one http://www.sentrysolutions.com/TufClothkew.shtml and see the Marine Tuf-Cloth for "extreme" protection.

I also have some of those silica crystal bags that I chucked in the safe. It seems to help, but I still have to clean all the toys every now & then, regardless.
