I sincerely hope that SADPA will make provision for .22LR rifles in our multi-gun shoot? ???

Re: IDPA Povisional Multi Gun Rules
Interesting - here's the provisional SADPA rules ??
SADPA RIFLE AND SHOTGUN MATCHES
INTRODUCTION
In South Africa, the Central Firearms Registry (CFR) has approved the status of SADPA as an accredited sport shooting association. As part of its application to the CFR, SADPA stated that it undertakes to present 2 and 3-Gun matches at selected SADPA matches and competitions as part of a broader competition base within SADPA. IDPA Head Office has ruled that 2 and 3-Gun matches will be conducted according to the existing IDPA framework for Equipment and Competition Rules [Handgun]. Note: shooting from concealment is not required when partaking in a rifle or shotgun CoF – only handgun Cof’s are required to be shot from concealment.
It is for this reason that the SADPA ExCo investigated the various firearm types and divisions as a means towards regulating the types and classes of firearms that competitors would be permitted to use when partaking in typical SADPA 2 and 3-Gun matches. Below is an outline of the classification of the various types of rifles and shotguns permitted in SADPA 2 and 3 gun matches.
A competition is in a singular firearm type, whilst a match is a combination of two or more types of firearms (competitions).
RIFLE DIVISIONS
All rifle divisions will not allow the use of compensators, silencers, nor any recoil reducing devices (internal or external) that are not part of the original manufacturers equipment as supplied by the manufacturer with the firearm in its standard or basic configuration (standard flash hiders are permitted). All rifle and hand-machine carbine divisions will be divided into two categories;
1. Stock Rifle – rifles or hand-machine carbines of standard configuration and standard factory specification of open sight configuration (notch & post or notch and peep sight).
2. Enhanced Rifle - rifles or hand-machine carbines of modified configuration and/or using lensed optical sighting devices (telescopic sights, red-dot reflex sights etc).
Rifle Divisions
1. Rimfire Rifle (rifles or carbines of .22 calibre):
Bolt Action Division
Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Rifle
• Enhanced Rifle
Pump Action / Lever Action Division
Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Rifle
• Enhanced Rifle
Semi-Automatic Division
Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Rifle
• Enhanced Rifle
2. Hand-Machine Carbine (hand-machine carbines using pistol ammunition of 9mm calibre or higher):
Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Hand-Machine Carbine
• Enhanced Hand-Machine Carbine
3. Centrefire Rifle (rifles or carbines of standard military calibre as well as rifle calibres used for the hunting of game):
Bolt Action Division
Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Rifle
• Enhanced Rifle
Pump Action / Lever Action Division
Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Rifle
• Enhanced Rifle
Semi-Automatic Division
Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Rifle
• Enhanced Rifle
SHOTGUN DIVISIONS
All shotgun divisions will not allow the use of compensators, nor any recoil reducing devices (internal or external – standard rubberised butt pads are permitted) that are not part of the original manufacturers equipment as supplied by the manufacturer with the shotgun in its standard or basic configuration. No magazine tube speed loading devices are permitted. Butt-mounted and/or receiver mounted ammunition carriers are permitted.
All shotgun divisions will be divided into two categories;
1. Stock Shotgun – shotguns using standard open sight configuration (front bead sight, notch & post or notch and peep sight of 12 gauge minimum calibre).
2. Enhanced Shotgun - shotguns using lensed optical sighting devices (telescopic sights, red-dot reflex sights etc) of 12 gauge minimum calibre.
Shotgun Divisions
1. Break Action Shotgun
(shotguns requiring the action to be ‘broken open’ for loading purposes, for example double barrel shotgun).
2. Bolt Action Shotgun (shotguns requiring the working of a bolt in order to load the chamber of the firearm). Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Shotgun
• Enhanced Shotgun
3. Pump Action Shotgun
(shotguns that require the ‘pumping’ action of the fore-end to load the chamber of the firearm , the magazine / magazine tube is to be loaded with 7 rounds max. of standard 2¾” or 3” - 12 gage shotgun shells or cartridges):
Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Shotgun
• Enhanced Shotgun
4. Semi-automatic Shotgun
(shotguns that are self loading - magazine / magazine tube to be loaded with 7 rounds max. of standard 2¾” or 3” - 12 gage shotgun shells or cartridges):
Firearm Classifications:
• Stock Shotgun
• Enhanced Shotgun
COMPETING IN 2 AND 3-GUN MATCHES (OR PARTS THEREOF)
Whenever a hosting club presents a 2 or 3-Gun match, it is the hosting club’s responsibility to ensure that competitors adhere to the requirements as listed herein so as to level the playing fields for all competitors with similar equipment.
As can be deduced from the above, only Stock and Enhanced Divisions will be catered for in SADPA 2 and 3-Gun matches. The handgun division that a competitor chooses to enter in (ESP, SSP, CDP, ESR or SSR) will have no bearing on the division of rifle or shotgun that the same competitor competes in at SADPA 2 or 3-Gun competitions (for example; a CDP handgun competitor may also choose to compete in Stock Semi-automatic Shotgun and Centrefire Bolt-Action rife division). All categories (handgun, rife and shotgun) will be scored separately. At this time, there will be no overall winner for all three categories combined.
As SADPA is still in the process of developing 2 and 3-Gun matches and procedures, competitors will only be awarded prizes and awards in terms of their overall standing per rifle/shotgun division and firearm classification if there are more than five competitors per division and firearm classification.
The final scores will be given in overall standing per individual firearm competition. At this point in time no overall shotgun or rifle winner will be identified. All scores will be converted to time (seconds) with the competitor’s objective being to attain the lowest possible score.

Re: IDPA Povisional Multi Gun Rules
The "SADPA" 3 Gun Rules were created to enable some form of regulation and to get 3 gun matches under way in the absence of Official IDPA Multi Gun rules.
IDPA Multi Gun Rules will supercede the SADPA rules. The provisional rules for information purposes were only made available to SADPA early in 2008.

Re: IDPA Povisional Multi Gun Rules
Glad I don't have to sort this lot out.
SADPA rules allows for .22 - IDPA rules don't.
SADPA doesn't allow comps - IDPA does.
SADPA refers specifically to hand carbines - IDPA doesn't, etc confused0083

Re: IDPA Povisional Multi Gun Rules
Yip SSP is correct - 9mmP and bigger cal carbines allowed as a rifle/gun division.
AND nothing will have to be sorted out because the SADPA rules were developed as interim rules to provide the opportunity for members to start shooting 3 gun type matches pending the advent of IDPA rules.
IDPA rules wil supercede the interim SADPA rules and IDPA rules may still be modified for SA specific requirements like .22 (for which, btw, IDPA has already been canvassed).
