Re: Beretta PX4 Storm compred to the Z88/Beretta 92 (my opinion)
Sorry for the late reply...
We use standard sights. The Z88 had glow in the dark sights (can get the proper word now...) but honestly the dont last long then they do not work anymore. And very pricy to replace. I think thats why LIW/Vektor stop producing those sights as the later Z88 models had plain sights.
On the PX4 and Z88 as a service pistol one is allowed to alter the sights and upgrade it with the necessary permission and authority. At your own cost and not at cost of the state though...

Hi WILDCARD,
Don't suppose you have an update between the two?
By the way that Z88 in the other thread is awesome!

Re: Beretta PX4 Storm compred to the Z88/Beretta 92 (my opinion)
Waiting in anticipation for that post...
I am considering the PX4, Glock 19 Gen 4 or CZ P-09 (purely because of comfort in my hands. I have, however, only shot the Glock. The other 2 were dry fire, slide manipulation testing etc).
If I do go PX4, I'd probably consider a hybrid IWB holster from guns-tactics. They have custom ones that seem comfortable (based only on the pictures on their site). I'm thinking the cant will allow for better CC (less printing).

Seems like the PX 4 Storm will remain in the SAPS inventory for quite some time <-----> https://www.saps.gov.za/services/bid...il.php?id=1831<----->

Re: Beretta PX4 Storm compred to the Z88/Beretta 92 (my opinion)
I was issued with both the Baretta 92 and the Z88. Loves both pistols to bits. The other day I shot the Storm, but seriously did not "like" it.
Struggled to get proper grip on it, the trigger was aghhhhh compared to the Z88 and my Shadow2.
The Storm will be something that I have to get used to. Did not shoot bad with it as I still qualified in the high 80%, but for me, NO, I will stick to real steel.
As a duty pistol the Storm does tick all the blocks. For the spoiled few I do not think the Storm will make a statement, but the guys issued with the Storm's just love them.
Horses for courses.

Re: Beretta PX4 Storm compred to the Z88/Beretta 92 (my opinion)
I know this not about the PX4C but imo it should be added in this discussion. The PX4C is a different animal to the PX4 and a really good option as an EDC gun over the PX4.
The PX4 and PX4C trigger can be greatly enhanced by installing a 12lb Wilson Combat hammer spring - it takes the DA trigger pull from around 9.5lbs to around 7lbs or 7.5lbs. All the PX4C trigger info is applicable to the PX4.
The PX4C and PX4 trigger can further be enhanced by the Beretta drop-in competition trigger kit.
The PX4C Carry has an excellent trigger in DA and SA and very close to the Wilson enhanced trigger on the Wilson Combat Beretta 92 Brig Tac. It is imo very unfair to judge a PX4 with std trigger versus a Shadow trigger.
My PX4C with the competition trigger and 12lb hammer spring is one one of the best EDC/Combat pistol triggers I have ever used. Trigger upgrade enhancement review and data can be read here http://www.gunsite.co.za/content/gun...pact-thoughts/
I find the PX4C to be extremely reliable and see no reason why the PX4 will not be the same - Ernest Langdon verified it anyway.
Adding grip texture to the PX4 and PX4C is very easy with the Talon grip. I have used a Talon (the same one) on my PX4C in EDC for more than 2 years and 6 months and it is still gtg.
