    A lesson I learned within 6 months of opening doors is not to take people's money for guns you do not physically have in stock... even if they have been invoiced out to you. Just about every week clients (loads on this forum to confirm what I say) try to force me to accept deposits. Quite simply:

    The firearms trade is too uncertain to entertain this. If someone tries to separate you from your cash without being able to show you the gun they are invoicing you for... RUN!

    There are many shops that order on an as required basis that I would gladly spend my money at. I would have no issue with it not yet being physically there. But I do choose carefully who I deal with.

    I agree with this, not just with FAs but other stuff too, had to many depressing incidents.

    Then why bother to advertise? It pisses me off when you see something you like on a website pay your money and only then get informed the item needs to be ordered and it will tale weeks or months. I agree with Paul's approach "if I don't have it I can't sell it"

    I got a price on one the other day from a GS dealer for about 2c more.

    Well, I enquired about the well priced .22 on their website. They did not want to commit to anything it seems and did not want to send me any information per email. This was their(George's) reply:
