    Hate to break it to you, and as nice as it is, but Boerewors is not a South African invention. I'm sure we perfected it though.

    As far as I know Dutch Oven pots with the short legs is an American design.

    A big problem here is if we start putting legs on the Dutch Ovens there will be none left for the potjies.

    Wors was probably invented by caveman that got up one morning looked down and had a brain spark.

    What makes boerewors unique is the beef and pork fat ratios with the combination of malay spices.

    We may not have invented sausage but boerewors we did. To the best of my recollection boerewors is the only sausage with coriander seeds, that is what makes it unique.
