BigT i recall that they were getting in a new order of Magtech (I do not know what and usually the importers only know what is on the shipment once they received a shipping invoice) early in 2009 somewhere.

I can't understand why they bother bringing in the 115gr kak. If they are only going to bring in cheap stuff at least make it the 147gr White Box stuff which is at least a reasonable performer.

I will bet quite a bit of money on the fact that none of the decision makers ever read an article or review on bullet performance. It's a job for most not a passion as it is for us.

But there is no excuse for not consulting (widely) if you know jack shit.

    BigT,
There's nothing wrong with 115gr, esp. Silvertips. Doing 1225fps out of a 4" is nothing to laugh at, I have tested them and they definately work!
Same with the Magtech 115gr, either the GG or Blue Box, both work very well and expand very aggressively.

On the other hand, I would stay far away from 147gr JHP's, very underpowered, the only thing they have going for them is penetration.
I have a box of 147gr SXT's and some Generation 1 147gr Black Talon which I will not carry, esp. from a sub 4" barrel.

What do you base this on? How do you define they work?

There are plenty examples of expanded 115gr rounds, for example:
    http://www.stevespages.com/page8f9mmluger.html

Most of the 115gr JHP's penetrate 13+", including the round in question, 15" and Winchester 115gr Silvertips at 18".
That is good enough for me.

Question is, how do you define they don't work?
