First Time Competancy
Good day all.
My wife will be completing her competancy for hand gun at Parow Arms tomorow morning.
Anybody recently completed their competancy's particularly hand gun at Parow Arms, that could posibly elaborate on what all takes place?
I completed my competancy in the early 2000's and not sure if it is still all the same.
Thanks
Richard

Re: First Time Competancy
I did mine at Kraaifontein. All I did was come in and write a quick exam (excluding the 2 open book exams I did at home the week prior, which BTW I had to pass before writing the quick quiz). After I passed, we went to the range and I had to shoot a blank A4 piece of paper 10 times at a distance of 7 meters. Nothing to it.
I just thought id share even though it was not at Parrow arms

Re: First Time Competancy
Hi Abbott,
I will also be doing mine at Parow Arms in the next few weeks. As far as I know it's quite easy and the instructors are very helpful and accommodating.
I'm sure your missus will be fine.

Re: First Time Competancy
Having said that, one would obviously need to have studied both manuals quite thoroughly. :)

Re: First Time Competancy
Also did mine at Kraaifontein, some family members did theirs at Parow Arms a few years ago.
Same as the experience described by SAS, quiz is closed book but multiple choice. Straight forward and no trick questions.
A lot easier than say doing a drivers learners licence.

Re: First Time Competancy
Hi, did mine at Parow Arms about 2 months ago. The instructors was very helpful and accommodating.
As long as you have done the open book test it should be over quiet quickly.
