Ide like to see that .223 Rem in 9mmP (but certainly not in mine!)

One would not. Yes it is.

This is exactly why I was wondering. Toxxyc gets it... If it can be discharged in my firearm, and I hold a license for a 9mmP, I'm allowed to have it.

I guess the little prepper in me wanted to know. Barter 'n all.

If it does sit deep then the firing pin would not reach the primer.

On a side note I have twice now found I accidentally loaded a 9mmk case with 9mmP charge and boolet. On both cases I picked them up as part of my final qc. I wonder what the repercussions of shooting one of these would be?
Apart from not head spacing properly the case only holds everything nicely together. The pressures is all taken by the chamber. I have by accident loaded 9mmP charge and Projectile in a 9mmK case and fired without a problem. The overall length was the same as with 9mmP. This could be a problem with the lighter/shorter projectiles as they will not be as well seated in the case.

    Not something I would recommend...

the 9mmP chamber would not be sealed with a 9mmK, i think it'll blow the mag out at the very least :)

edit: nvm, thinking of 9mm short.

This is wrong, if you have 9mmP you are not allowed to have or buy 9mmK ammo

Yep, nope. You may only have ammunition that can be fired from a firearm for which you have a licence. Small but subtle difference. This means you may have 38 Special ammunition on a 357 Magnum licence. And 223 on a 5.56mm licence. Etc. Etc.

you may only have ammunition for the firearm licenced to you as per your firearm licence. Having a 357 does not allow you to have 38sp ammo etc

    Er No.

By the way 9mmK is 9mmS.
