Samson Free floating Rail on Norinco CQ-A...
Hi All,
Quick question...
I have an opportunity to bring in a Samson Free floating rail from the USA.
Questions: Would this rail be allowed in the luggage of said person coming to our shores due to ITAR?
Would any extra machining work be needed to make the rail fit onto the Norinco? The rail comes complete with barrel nut set. Obviously a low profile gasblock would be needed, or a front site cut down.
Anyone have experience with the fitting of Samson rails?

Technically an end user certificate would be required. But if they dont ask then no-one will worry.
To answer accurately is difficult. If you machine the front sight off, then it's likely that machining of the rail will also be required. If you replace the gasblock then it's possible that the new one might fit without modification needed.
Sadly you will likely only know when all the parts are together and you start fitting them.

It works perfectly, no mods needed, just cut your front sight post.
Why not order from samson? No papers needed.

Thanks Guys....
Appreciate the replies..
I am waiting for replies from Samson themselves, but wanted to save a little on shipping costs. A mate of mine has hunting clients coming in from the US. They wanted to know if they could bring anything with.. so I was thinking perhaps a Samson rail in the luggage wouldn't hurt.. I noted the export restrictions via Opticsplanet.com. I think Hailstormza do sell Daniel Defense low profile gasblocks. If they dont have in stock.. I dont mind cutting down the front site..
When I hear back from Samson, I think I will take the chance. Im sure SOMEONE here in SA will be able to make it fit if it doesnt?!

There is no fitting required, easy straight fit, you can consult you tube for video instructions. There is one where a lady did the whole conversion in like 10 mins
