I went walking around Sandton City this afternoon and saw some of the bag liners at Drifters. The thermal liners they had in stock had 5,8 and 15 degree ratings. Was reasonably pricy at between R600 and R800 for the liners but based on specs, size and weight probably well worth getting if you do these things often. Something to put on my list to buy before the next ice-age ;-)

Most bags carry a temp rating , so I suggest you get at least a -15 deg one. Believe it or not but I actually get warmer taking my clothes of inside it than sleeping with them on, but you should probably get thermal underwear.
