Me too , in a knife for daily use the ring is convenient but in a defense set up I fear that I will break my finger. Stab someone and if he falls or pulls away at an angle that sudden jerk can twist my finger broken .

In all the live testing I've done, stabbing pretty solid targets at full force, the BitPik has been amazingly comfortable and strong in grip. Part of the genesis for this idea was a similar but conventional hooked karambit, which made no sense to me since the force applied would push against the palm side, but with a pikal blade the ring and the cantilever of the pinky groove work wonders.
