Safari and outdoor have nosler partition in 150Gr in stock, while I have never hunted with them. They appear to be very well made. Has anybody else tried them for hunting?

You can try www.tecfund.co.za for the GS custom bullets, I was also looking for some and Koos was able to help me quickly. Just give him a call he might have some stock.

They're great ... I use them in my 7mm Magnum and they really do work well.

    I would probably go for 165's in 308 ...

I used the 150gr SPT Sierra Pro-Hunter successfully this past weekend. I shot a Blesbuck with a heart shot at about 200m, with minimal meat damage. Hunted in the Van Reenen/ Swinburne area.

This handload chronied at the range was 2480fps.

Nosler Partitions are very good, they were the benchmark for many years until bonded bullets became available. My brother found that in some Nosler Partitions the copper separated from the lead. It was 180gr, and only in one batch.

Have you had a look at Swift A-frame? I like their design as well.

Those of you who says the Gamekings caused lots of meat damage, could you please tell us whether you had hit bone? and whether it was the soft point gamekings or the HBPT which doesn't have a lead tip..

Most lead tip bullets will cause considerable meat damage as the lead tip disintegrates and acts like schrapnel, causing lots of meat damage.

I have changed for that reason to the hollow point gamekings and will be testing them the first week of july as I will only be shooting 165gr hollow point game kings.

@OP, 150gr should be fine if you shoot properly. My dad used 150gr only for along time and shot everything with it, including Eland. Shot placement is always key though, no bullet can make up enough for poor shot placement except the Berger hunting bullets I would rate as those bullets are designed to cause massive internal shock. (Think same principle with the HydraShock HP bullets). But that is just me guessing.. Seeing the shockwave on gelatine on youtube shows the internal shock and damage organs experience when the buck is hit in the lung or behind the lungs and a vital heartshot was not possible. Google it..

I prefer 180gr though for bigger animals but lack speed in my short barrel, so hence I only shoot 165/168gr bullets. To me it is a nice trade off to velocity and buck options. However, I know I am going on a hunt just to shoot eland, I would then load up 180gr Interbonds or Sierra Prohunters. Only purely cause I have them lying around not being used.

I would maybe look at 150gr Barnes if you can get your hands on them and have time for load development..

    I had a thought.
I think there is a thread some where here that says that the Sierra bullets don't like hitting game at fast speeds.

But as usual I stand to be corrected.
