Re: .308 semi auto - which one to buy?
Yes it is a pity it is so salty because it is a very nice rifle - I have a MK114 that I really like.

Re: .308 semi auto - which one to buy?
Well, I only see DPMS and PWS mentioned here. Surely there must be others available out there too. My opionion on rifles is buy the best you can afford but on semi, what else is out there to concider? Also, if one go for the 556, is that the only semi's to look at. Appreciate the debate and good feedback on here!

Re: .308 semi auto - which one to buy?
I know there are some S&W M&P10's coming in. I know this because I'm on the waiting list. I've heard nothing but good news about these rifles over the interwebs. Not the best source of information vs hands on experience but somebody would have made a stink about it if the rifle sucked.
Fully ambi (mag release, bolt hold open, safety). A bit of a compromise since it isn't 16 inch carbine but not a 20 inch hunting rifle either but 18 inches of nice 5R rifling can't be all bad.
Besides it's a S&W how bad can it really be.

Re: .308 semi auto - which one to buy?
So couple of years later and likely more options to choose from now - which .308 AR type rifles would you say are currently the best, proven options here in SA with adequate local support and accessories?
And, perhaps a stupid question, but are these chambered in .308 Win, or 7.62 x 51?Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving with a well preserved body...

The SIG 716 DMR in FDE in 7.62x51 is sweet! I seen one and it’s a very light rifle! I was too scared to ask the price.....

Re: .308 semi auto - which one to buy?
Same old, same old.... Always one idea in the making and already having a new one.
My latest idea I am working on is a PCC. Currently seriously considering the Ruger PC9. But my other toy is also struggling to go to bed.
I feel you.
