    Default Sect 21 process flow

    Morning guys

I am not too sure on a thread as titled but I know there is one posted for competency and license. I have searched but no joy.

So, what is the process for sect 21. What channels does it take. Is it the same or does it go straight from DFO to the guy that grants temps or does it go to Provincial, CRC, CFR etc.

    Thanks guys

It's just my reasoning that if it only takes a week or so from the time of handing in, then IMHO, I can't see it going through all the channels. That would take too long.

They use the same flow, although they are supposed to be expedited. I understand that Provincial does minimal processing on them and forwards them to the CFR ASAP, and that there are separate staff at the CFR that handle S21 applications. The DFO is usually the weak link - mine usually takes 2+ weeks just to get the S21 to provincial.

As for the CRC, I believe only competency applications go that route.

I recently sold a 9mm to a friend of mine.

He collected it yesterday, Lic card in hand. He is still waiting for his Sec 21

Then again, I got my Sec 21 in 5 working days! Been waiting for my Lic card almost 3 months now

Thanks guys. So the weak link is the DFO. I must give Midrand a big thumbs up. They are very quick and efficient. So I guess my app will be going through to provincial on Thursday. Hope and pray CFR are on the ball and the person doing the app has a good day

That's what I am afraid of, waiting for the card. Anyway, my section 21 will be handed in tomorrow. I want to do some 3 gun that's coming up soon.
