    Use it. Don't use it.

    That would be me

When a new shooter is going through minimum 50 rounds on a good stage, you tend to help him out a little ;-)

His time stops at 30 seconds anyway. No point not applying the rules. Doesn't build a solid foundation.

The whole point of taking the new shooters was to have good, clean, safe, fun. The end result was purely trigger time and building confidence with the firearm.

Teaching someone, a solid foundation is a lot easier, when the shooter is comfortable handling the firearm and understanding the gun dynamics. It makes for easier teaching and understanding to hone their skills. It also gives them a good indication of what aspects need to be addressed.

By solid foundation I meant a solid foundation in the rules of the game.

Look at it this way. You take a new shooter and count pole hits. And he's shoots a 29.8s run. Another shooter who's been working hard on improving runs a 29.9 properly on the plates. Even after all his hard work he is rewarded with a loss based on a different rule set. Unless of course you didn't hand in your score sheets and just worked out your guys scores separately.

I may just understand a thing or two about teaching people:)

If you want to play the game, play it by its rules.

    By helping him cheat?
I don't see how thats helping him.
