Here in the states .260 ammunition is quite a bit more expensive than 6.5 Creedmoor. That has never made sense to me. I have a Swede and my next rifle will be an AR in .260. I reload so I'm not worried about ammo cost. Plus with the .260 if you can't find brass it is easy to size up .243 or size down 7MM-08.

It does not look to difficult to form creedmoor brass using 22-250.

I must say that I am currently using 308 Palma brass in my 260 Ackley. When I started shooting the 260 only expensive Nosler brass was available locally (no Rem brass at the time) so I used Winchester 308 brass and it worked very nicely.

6mm Creedmoor has me interested and maybe I will get one built some time in the future.

Picked up a set of Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor dies from Camdix last week. They have (had?) Hornady brass in stock @ R 660.00 / 50 if anyone is interested. They might still have some factory ammo also (Hornady 140gr A-Max).

    Arnold,

Sorry, didn"t ask. I had my local dealer order 10 boxes @ R 440.00 / 20 along with my rifle. I'd assume it would be in the same price range at Camdix.

If i am not mistaken, the idea behind the creedmore was to be reloader friendly. With factory load data available on box for easy replication. This is great if you live in the USA and have the powders available. 6.5x47, 260 and creedmore are all much of a muchness. All been great!

Yup, load data on the box. 41.5gr H4350, 140gr A-Max, can't remember COL now. Using Quickload with S365 gives much the same result. Will obviously need fine tuning with whatever Lot of 365 I get when I eventually get the rifle, but in theory S365 should give close to 100% case fill, with moderate pressure for about 2800 fps with the 140 A-Max (BC .585).

I'm also itching to experiment with the 107, 120 and 129gr bullets. And the Sierra 142gr Matchkings (BC .610) of course. How long is the rifle range at Buffalo River? Thinking of joining there...
