404 or 425WR
I currently have some big bores, so I am not looking for any holes to be filled so to speak. What I cant decide between as a new rifle (will be custom built) is the .404 and the .425. Both are brilliant and funds permitting I would love both, but I can only get one. my first choice was the .404, then I shot a .425 and something got short circuited in my grey matter. Now I cant for the life of me decide which one to get.
if there were only two calibre's to choose from and these were them, which one would you go for.
please only keep it to these two, I don't need any additional confusion running around in my head.

I love mine, has very manageable recoil and is an absolute pleasure to shoot !

Re: 404 or 425WR
I have always loved the .404, which is why I was so keen to get one. have hunted with one a few times and have shot a number of them. However the look of the .425 WR cartridge, its performance and the nostalgia caught my attention in a big way.

Re: 404 or 425WR
I cant comment on the .425, but i have a .404, i love this rifle and prefer it to any of my other rifles, i have loaded it with 320 gr perigrines and it is absolutely amazing! i think at the end of the day its going to be more of what appeals to you the most. good luck on deciding.

Re: 404 or 425WR
I don't trust the feeding on a rebated case like the 425WR, so I would go for the 404.

Re: 404 or 425WR
My vote would be for the 425 as it's a bit more 'special' (read: unusual/different). But its unusualness may count against it if ammo and reloading components availability is important.
The 425 arguably has the better ballistics but I doubt that counts for much for short range work.

Hi Budaa, sorry for the hijack, do you have load development data for the 320gr and 400gr peregrines.
thanks
