Half cock in SSP ?

Hi Guys, if you are shooting a DA/SA pistol in SSP division - can you rack the slide, lower the hammer and then pull it back to half cock for safety reasons ?

USP decocker drops onto a half cock...althoug I'm not sure if it is referred to as a half cock in the sense.

The USP doesn't have a half cock. Its a safety notch. Hehe.

Seriously though, the answer to the question is no.

Everyone knows youre not bringing it to halfcock for safety reasons but to get a lighter first shot.

I'd give you an FTDR ever time I saw you do it.

Thanks SSP - that was my thinking too tup

It would give the shooter an unfair advantage as the pull would be shorter and lighter.

BTW: I don't shoot in SSP division - saw it done by a.n.other and wanted some clarity

Correct. Just did a bit of reading on the matter. It is referred to by many on the errornet (and how can the errornet ever be wrong) as a half-cock. It does not, however, prime the hammer spring, hence not a true half-cock.

Whatever the case is, I suspect its not going to fly with IDPA.

Finger out the trigger guard when moving between targets.

hell I though all HK's were half cocks? ;D
