New Tops Askari Prototype

Hi guys.

Just thought I'd post a pic of the knife I designed for Tops knives - USA. It's called the Askari and will hopefully be available from beginning 2010 - seems Tops will be launching it at the Shot Show in Las Vegas. You saw it first !

It's a big camp knife - purposefully build for chopping, camp chores, shelter building etc. etc. I will have it within the next couple of days for field testing and finals.

Dimensions - 44 cm overall
Blade length - 26 cm
width - 4.5 cm
thickness - 4.5mm
Linen Micarta handle scales (rounded edges for prolonged use)
1095 High carbon steel.

It's a beaut ! I would almost feel to sorry for it to be used for it's intended purpose.
Price range, more or less ?

Hi guys - for those of you that are interested in the final product - the Askari is currently retailing for R2400. We have also had requests from US and UK military personnel in Afghanistan for a shorter version of the Askari and are expecting a 6 inch blade version later this year or early 2011.
