Default Warthog with 6.5x55 (Warning: Blood)

I shot this warthog sow this morning, first animal with my new Howa. Range was somewhere between 150 and 200 m, bullet 90 grain Impala at 3080 fps. Warthog was angled away from me and the shot was placed far back on the rib cage and exited from the opposite shoulder, breaking the shoulder joint.

First photo is the hog (weight 51 kg), second is a photo of the heart, which was virtually destroyed.

I'm still skeptical, they don't work like that every time.

That piggy is in nice shape for this time of year - but when I drove through your area about 3 weeks ago, I was amazed by how much water is still about. (not to mention the good flow in that ditch that you cross to go from EC to OFS)

Are you enjoying the new rifle?

I find they work well on the larger calibres, I'm also sceptical on the smaller calibre
