Secunda Woman's day fun shoot

This coming Saturday, 9 August the SAHGCA Houtkapper branch in Secunda will be hosting a woman's day fun shoot.

This shoot is open to ALL ladies who wants to come and shoot, even if you do not have your own firearm or have never handled a firearm before. The shooting events will be basic fun exercises which will include a 10m dart game with handguns and a 100m rifle shoot. Firearms will be available to those who do not have their own.

This day will be to celebrate woman's day by empowering woman with basic firearm handling skills.

I am pleasantly surprised by the amount of woman with no firearms that wants participate . Some even asked if they can get some additional training afterwards and for some help to obtain a license. It goes to show that there is a huge number of people who wants to own firearms but they don't know how.

This turned out to be a fun and fruitful event, despite the cold rainy weather around 40 people took part in the days activities, the majority being woman and many of them handled a firearm for the first time. You can see in the pictures we kept a close eye on the newbies to ensure safety and to provide guidance as the shooting took place.

The feedback was extremely positive and I think we should be hosting more events of this nature to expose people to what shooting sports and firearms are really about.
