Sports adventure shooting
13 September 2013
A very hot dry and dusty day. The summer heat has started and the summer rainy season has yet to begin.
The damn dam is bone dry, whereas in January one has to wade through it hip deep in muddy water now one can walk across it.
Additionally the veldt had been burnt. We would all be coated in a fine grey black ash by the end of the day.
A smaller group than usual met to do the Final L1 for the year and for some pistol and rifle practice.
Level 1 Stats.

Well done to the lads for passing. One of the participants showed true grit: Despite have had a hip replacement he managed a painful L1!
Honey Badger insisted that we do a Sas Biathlon ;-( ;-)
Course length was measured at 2.4km, consisting of 4 laps of 600m. This was 200m shorter than the Biathlon we had run during the competition.
4 magazines with 5 rounds only were placed at the firing point. At the end of each lap the mag had to loaded, shots taken at a 230mm target @ 100m.
The rifle would then be made safe and the empty mag placed in a designated area.
The first lap required that shots be taken whilst standing thereafter one could choose any firing position.
Failure to use the follow the course, place mags in wrong position, or exit/enter through the wrong gate would result in DQ.
Name Time in seconds Hits X100 Final score Rifle/Cal/Sights Honey Badger 23.27 12 196.2 Bolt/270/Scoped Camo 25.37 9 622.2 MP15/22/.22lr/RDS 3x Magnification Bushboy 27.07 5 1124.2 LM6/Iron Tracer 25.41 1 1424.6 LM6/RDS BB 27.07 0 1624.2 AR?/Scoped
Once we had recovered our breath we proceeded to rifle and pistol drills. As this was a L1 day we showed the newcomers to our basic pistol drills, strong hand/weak hand etc.
Thanks to all who attended and shout out to Tracer, Honey badger and Bushboy for running a smooth show.Recent studies show that 1 out of every 3 liberals are just as dumb as the other 2
