No Rimfire sub-forum.
While there are Sub-Forum's for Handguns, Tactical rifles, Big Bore rifles, Hunting rifles etc and an air gun/airsoft sub-forum....I do not see a sub-forum specifically for Rimfire guns.
Was it tried, was there no interest in it? Is .22 not all that popular in SA?
Rimfire is incredibly popular in the US, .22 and .22 Magnum of course and .17 has been gaining popularity over the years. I can only imagine it is the same in SA also. Thinking back though, as a poep kid, I always thought of the .22 as only a step above .177cal air rifles. But for many, the .22 in particular is after all something many learned on as a kid and used it to target shoot or to take small game like squirrels etc. They are really great as trainers for larger bore FA's, when your fundamentals of marksmanship are dwindling. A .22 will really show up flaws in your technique.
Would the site admin consider adding a Rimfire section?

Re: No Rimfire sub-forum.
In Africa we are all manly men. We don't hold with silly little rimfire calibers. Get a real gun, wimp.
No but seriously the .22 has a big following here. Even with the demise of school shooting and our home grown Swartklip .22 ammo factory there is still a good following.
I remember being flabbergasted when a brick of .22 set me back R95. I did not know how I could carry on shooting with it getting that expensive, now it is what, R450/500? Lols.
I love both of my .22's and am seriously thinking about picking up a bolt action to compliment my Colt .22 and Smith and Wesson 15-22.
I know the semi auto .22 is picking up quite a bit here. Why don't we have a .22 sub forum?

Re: No Rimfire sub-forum.
Yes well the Ruger 10/22 is huge here. There is so much stuff available for it and super accurate accessories like Kidd barrels etc and of course Volquartsen. One of the guys in the precision rifle club I belong to, designed and markets a precision stock for the 10/22 that is very affordable and is fully bitchin'......like an AI stock.
Then of course all the more tactical style like the S&W 15-22, the Umarex H&K MP5 clones in .22, GSG etc.

It is a great idea - I don't shoot .22 very much but it would be very informative. There are enough .22 threads and discussions. Would like to hear the mods' opinions.
