Got my new Rhodesian FN put together.....
I used a Rhodesian lower stripped as the start of my project:
A member on the FAL FILES put together a parts kit with a South African barrel, and various other Rhodesian parts for me. Some with Rhodesian paint still on and some small parts with Zimbabwe light brown paint I am guessing. I got a DSA R1 upper receiver to use on this build. I dropped it off at my smith [ Ed Vandenberg] in Houston and got this back:bow:
These indoor shots show the paint still on the top cover much better.
Now to just get it to the range to zero the sights.....

Very very cool. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when people salvage weapons/parts and restore them to their former glory. Well done !!

Excellent. That DSA upper looks like a really accurate R1 replica. Well done to them and to you.

It looks correct for R1 WZ. I am concerned however about the lockup - the takedown lever appears to be up against the 'recoil shield'. Possible need for replacement of frame lock.

Re: Got my new Rhodesian FN put together.....
Will do later today. I did get it to the range earlier yesterday and ran about 60 rounds through it. The rifle ran flawlessly with one exception. The rifle groups about 1 inch right at 50 yards and at 100 yards about 4 inches to the right of point of aim. Adjusting the rear sight on a FN is rather tricky it seems

Very nice gun Lonestar!
I love 'working' guns and Rhodie FALs come with a lot of history and character.
