Re: Milling a glock slide to take an RMR. Who does it locally?
Sweet. I am also interested in this.
Make sure it is a new model RMR. The original version gets battered to death in about 5000 rounds

Ha! Funny. It'll outlast the Glock springs, but that is about all.
In all seriousness though if you're looking at an electronic one get a new one.
DocGKR
The 5 digit RMR-A's tended to have a more limited lifespan when used on pistol slides.
now that Trijicon appears to have the durability issues solved--just be sure to get a NEW production RMR06 with a 6 digit SN greater 108400
He's talking about some sights with over 10K rounds and still going strong.

I heard of a bracket one can get that you can remove your back sight and put this bracket on and then reflex sight on top of that. Probably makes the sight sit quite high on the slide. And who knows about the strength of the bracket.

The are a number if methods.
This one the OP is probably referring to ie, To mill the slide and lengthen the front strap transforms the gun to way better than ex factory ito bore hight being much lower. Comfort and ease of use is way improved.Last edited by KK20; 05-10-2014 at 18:10.

These make the sight sit very high in the gun , so your entire stance has to change. They also disallow BUIS. This gives two disadvantages. Firstly when the optic fails you're stuck with point shooting. Secondly the BUIS can be very useful in orientations the gun while you find the dot.
