Re: CRKT KNIFE HELP!
I would say drop point because it is easier to sharpening but seeing as they are serrated I would have to go with the tanto. Serrations are a pain to maintain so both will he hard to sharpen. Personally I like the tanto more. It looks better on that knife. I have one CRKT and it is also a tanto style. I do not EDC it so I'm not to sure how it would perform under different circumstances.

Re: CRKT KNIFE HELP!
Invert the clip so it has the "wave" opening function. I have one. Very nice knife, wishing you many happy days with it.

Re: CRKT KNIFE HELP!
Some thoughts.
I have a CRKT M1614ZSF AND A CRKT M1614SFG.
(The Z and G stand for zytol and G10 handle material)
Both have Tanto blades but the M1614ZSF has a fuller blade also referred to as a semi-tanto. It also has conventional type triple point serrations
The M1614SFG has a more traditional tanto shape and veff serrations.
Personally I prefer the M1614ZSF because it has a larger cutting surface and I prefer the traditional serrations. The standard serrations cut while the veff serrations hack. The G10 handle in far superior to the zytol (fiberglass filled nylon) handle and gives more grip.
If you get the knife with a black titanium nitrate finish make sure that you wash it properly after use. It is very durable but can become chemically stained.
Personally I don't carry either of them. I find them impractical and a bit threatening for everyday carry. For EDC I prefer a Spyderco paramilitary with a non serrated blade. It is tough, keeps its edge very well and very comfortable to carry. I have an old very well used Swiss army knives in my draw at home and 1 at work for anything else.

Re: CRKT KNIFE HELP!
I have both the tanto and the spear point, they are great knives! I took a dremmel and removed the knurling / checkering on the quilion (if that's the right term) They now no longer eat my clothes or resist coming out of a pocket, but open smoothly when drawn from the pocket.
