Camdix sells the Norinco AK type 84 •223. From what I can see, it's pretty much the 101. They have 30round mags for R800. Might be worthwhile to see if they'll work on the 101. Attachment 17290Attachment 17291

my AK app (sec16) was refused last week.
first refusal in 12 applications (4th semi-auto long gun).
waiting to find out the reason......I hope is something arbitrary and not "they" have now decided civilians cant have AKs/have too many semi-autos.

mine was approved 2 days ago so it is probably just an admin thing, dont stress

Very nice rifle. What's the availability of 5.45 ammo like in South Africa? Also, do you have access to cheap Russian ammunition (e.g. Barnaul)?

Isn't an AK101 5.56x45? ie standard 5.56 AR ammo?
