Default Drop-In LED Performance Upgrade for Surefire G2/P60.

I have Thrunite LED Drop In modules for Surefire G2 and P60 type reflector lights.

These Drop-In modules also fit the following lights per the manufacturer:

    Blackhawk Falcata, Boker B0006, Brinkman Legend, Maxfire (LX models on both), Cabela's XPG (Xenon models), Dereelight CL1H (all Versions), DealExtreme {DX} HF-19, SKUs' ~ 1284, 4226, 14329, 14597, 14902, 15159 (DIY chassis), 15565, 15561 & OEMs, G&P T6, T9, T12, R12, Hellfighter X-4, X-8, Huntlight FT-01PJ, FT-01X SE (Luxeon versions on both), Kaidomain KD Tough, & OEMs, Leupold MX series w/ MX-100 bezel, M812, Mega CREE Q2, Nextorch (vaious models), Pelican M6 (newer version M6)...Slight modifications needed, PentagonLight X1, Xenon chassis {to be confirmed}, Pila GL2/3/4, Romisen RC-E4, RC-M4, RX-A, Smartfire A-1,T1, Solarforce L2, SF6, SF9, SF12, Spiderfire Q5, R2, X-O3, Superfire C1, see Ultrafire models, Surefire {SF} 3P, 3R, 6, 6P, 6PD, 6PL, 6R, 6Z, 7Z, 9P, 9Z, C2, C3, D2, D3, G2, G2L, G2Z, G3, G3L, GZ2, M2, Z2, Z3, Various Weaponlight models, Tactical Operations Products Stryker (slight modifications necessary), Xenon models, Trustfire T1-Q5, TR-B1/2/3, TR-C1 & 2, TR-Q5, TR-C2, Ultrafire 6P, 9P, 12P, C1, Alpha-C1, L2, WF-501A/B/C/D, WF-502B/C/D, WF-503B, Wolf-Eyes (See dimensions), XLight HA-III Cree Q3 kit, HA-III Cree Q5 XTAR P4

The following models are in stock:

    1. XR-E R2 LED - 260 Lumen Emitter SM (otf = around 200 lumen) Single Mode operation = R150 each.

    2. XP-G R5 LED - 330 Lumen Emitter SM (otf = around 260 lumen) Single Mode operation = R240 each.

    3. XP-G R5 LED - 330 Lumen Emitter MM (otf = around 260 lumen) Multi Mode (3 lumen, 100 lumen, 260 lumen) operation = R260 each.

The Multi Mode Drop-In module is imo GTG for utility use - modes are switched via a circuit in the module by switching on and off quite rapidly which steps the modes. This in not too good for tactical use or on a rifle where you would maybe want to switch the light on and off and quickly on a gain for some tactical reason, as the light will switch between modes.

Here is an independent review of the Thrunite Drop In:

    Khumba,
I have a Surefire 6P, takes 2x CR123 batteries and the OD of the reflector is 26mm. Reflector and bulb is one unit. Can be switched on by either screwing down the back end of the torch or be depressing the button on the back (No clicks on button)
Do you have a LED system for this torch?

    Thomast,

    yes I do.

The alluminium Surefires are GTG with the XP-G R5 Modules and you WILL be impressed with the performance upgrade you get.

There is a huger difference between the performance of these units and the standard incandescant lights and even a lot of difference between these units and the Surefire 80 Lumen LED modules.

I replaced all my incandescant Surefire bulbs with Surefire LED modules around 2 years ago and I have since replaced all the Surefire modules with more expensive US Drop In modules. THERE IS NO COMPARISON. The Drop In's I sell now are around half the price of the US modules and just as good imo.

If you intend to use it for utility more than tac I recommend the Multi Mode model and if more Tac then the Sinl Mode.

For an emmitter to give this much lite it must produce energy/heat and the heat is better dispersed with alluminium heads.

This said I had my G2 Nitrolon (plastic) light on for constant 12 minutes last night with the XP-G R5 on high setting and it just started to feel warmish - nothing to worry about yet and it is with a plastic head.

    Thanks Khumba.
The torch is part of my home defence system, not for everyday use, so the single mode system would be preferable. I like to keep it simple.
    XP-G R5 LED - 330 Lumen Emitter SM (otf = around 260 lumen) Single Mode operation = R240 each.
    Thats what I want!
I'm in Cape Town, we can switch details via PM, ok?
What would total costs be incl shipping?

    Cool.

I check each unit going out to make sure it works.

Speed Services fee is R50 and normal parcel mail with tracking number is around R20.

    Send PM for concluding.

Hi Khumba. Did you get my email re. AR15 mags? On the drop in units for the Surefire. Is there a difference between the 2 and 3 cell units?

the LED modules handles 1,2 and 3 cell lights.

AR mags - I do have e-mail from you on my BlackBerry - the one of 29 Dec or is there more current mail ? we communicated some about the forward mount and red dots but I cannot find it on my work PC so it must be on the family laptop at home or maybe I ?? would you mind resending the mail so I can get up to speed.

I'll just go and check my PM's maybe it is there?

Also is there a difference in light output between the 1-2 and 3 cell led modules or just longer run time?

you may find a little extra output but imo it will be very difficult to discern - runtime is the main benefit on 2 or 3 cells.

On the Catapult 900 lumen emitter light you can for example see a little diff when using 2 x 18650 3.7v batts instead of 1.

Mags put aside I will PM the tel #

Cannot find the e-mail - I will also confirm e-mail address by PM.
