So if I understand how these work, the inner is reusable with a new CO2 cartridge, but one needs replacement outer shells that rupture from the pressure? Are these available and at what cost?

Correct. it uses a replaceable Co2 cartridge (Non threaded type) AND an outer shell that ruptures from the pressure creating the "BANG".

The mechanism/handle etc. is all reusable. I am awaiting the final prices on the shells.

The Valken will arrive disassembled.

You can fill the inner with paint, chalk dust, cornflour or pepper.

When assembling/disassembling the Pepper Grenade, wear disposable gloves and do so out-of-doors.

Once assembled, give it a wipe down and then store safely.

Trying to assemble it when seconds count will make for interesting times.
