    Making brass: Anneal your 303 cases. Run them up the sizing die. This will give you an interesting bulge on the shoulder. Load with 40 grains S341 and magnum primers (I had hangfires with Fiocchi, 341 is a bit hard to get going). This is for 145 grain bullets. Shoot. Accuracy is not bad, and the shoulders blow out nicely.

    44.5 grains S341 behind the 145 grainer gives 2100 fps. This is from the 14" barrel.
    44.5 grains S341 behind a 130 grain monolithic gives 2645 fps. This is way hot. Nice grouping, but way hot. I'll definitely crank it down to 2400 or even less. For comparison, a buddy's 308 Mauser gives 2600 fps with 130 grain Sierras. From a rifle length barrel.

    Not bad to shoot, even at the "way hot" setting.

    Interesting reading. I would stick with your numbers you have for the 145 grainers. what was the accuracy like
