Re: What are your shooting goals for the year?
I would like to move from Novice up a level on IDPA, I want to train to become more accurate, faster and safer with my gun handling.
I wouldn't mind. trainer to give me some help.

I'd actually like to get a bloody IDPA classifier and NSO shoot done...

Re: What are your shooting goals for the year?
(One of) My 2017 shooting goal(s), making IDPA expert, was achieved through a match bump at Africa Champs.
After that match, I started competing with a new pistol, and naturally, making Master became the goal for 2018. In my more optimistic moments, the deadline of 2018 Champs seemed viable.
Whether it is the (much better) sights on the Shadow, the "new gun" motivation for practice, or getting my head right in matches (resulting in more confidence), I managed to classify Master in January!
Now I'm in a bit of a motivational vacuum, without a well defined goal.

Re: What are your shooting goals for the year?
Abbreviated. First time I ever tried it (in practice) I managed a zero down run under 20s (that first person video is on youtube), at the club shoot I shot slightly faster but two down. Still under 20 though.
Yes, I focus on performances reflecting my classification now (I've shot 3 leagues since), I don't want to be just a paper master. But it happened so soon I'm still working on my self confidence...

Congrats. I do feel that the 5x5 has maybe put some extra pressure on you. But then again, sometimes we need that nudge. Share the link to the video if you don’t mind.
Good luck with your training and prep.
Did you do the postal shoot? And your real name

Re: What are your shooting goals for the year?
Jumping in here really late...
I'm hoping to put a varsity team together at Tuks. It's gonna take a huge amount of work and effort, but maybe I can get it right. A lot of us can't afford to shoot regularly if we aren't trust fund babies and it's next to impossible to get scholarships/sponsors if you're not the right colour or if you aren't born into the right families.
On a personal level, I'm a pretty decent shot (averaging around 80), but I just don't have the means to spend enough time at the range, plus competitions are really expensive. There are a lot of guys like me, so I'm hoping to put together a small team of good shots and see if we can't get sponsors/funding from a few big companies.
I want more than anything to start competing properly, maybe this will be the way I make it happen!
