The side mount fits into the retaining pin screw hole on the side of the action. The original screw screws into the mount or safe keeping. The original open sites are left on the barrel and can still be used.

The newer Rossi lever actions have taped holes under the rear sites and the Braztech rail fits here.
Most Rossi's available in South Africa still have the older sites and the barrel would need to be drilled and tapped by a gunsmith the fit the Braztech rail.

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a Brazatech P892 base? To make use of the drilled and tapped wholes under the rear sight of a newer Rossi 357 M92 with a round barrel

I bought one on e-Bay, shipped it to forwarding address (Shipito), and then to myself in RSA. Bit of a schlep but cheap enough.

Just make sure your barrel is drilled and tapped. Mine wasn't, so I had to do it myself. Maybe not a DIY jobbie for the average joe.
