Neighboring farmers searched through the night. Five suspects has been taken in so far. One farmer has been wounded in the follow up.

"Police on the scene on a farm in the Laersdrift area in Limpopo say that an estimated 11 suspects are connected with the attack.
Two vehicles, a Toyota Quantum taxi and a Toyota Corolla, arrived on the farm, with the occupants posing as cattle buyers. They started shooting at the farmer and one of his workers but fled when they encountered that the farmer was armed and able to fire back.

Neighbouring farmers succeeded in blocking the gravel road leading to the farm. A shootout erupted between the attackers and the farmers. This caused the attackers to leave their vehicles behind and flee on foot into the nearby bush.
Upon closer inspection, one of the attackers were found heavily wounded inside the Corolla.

A massive search party, consisting out of more than 100 farmers from as far as Ohrigstad and police officers searched the veld for the remaining suspects.

By sunset two more suspects were arrested. A source on the scene confirmed that a total of five suspects are currently being held in connection with the attack.

• This is the third farm attack on the farm in 2015. During a previous attack, the farmer and his wife were held at gunpoint by six armed gunmen."

A farm attack today, Sunday 18 Oct. Amersfoort district. It appears to have happened at about mid-day.
The farmer was fired upon when he detected movement outside the house.
Four attackers fired about ten rounds at him.
He fired back, wounding one and wounding another fatally.
Neighboring farmers responded immediately and managed to arrest the other two.
