Default MODERNISED STEYR AUG A3 Z

My pet project of an awesome little talked about rifle and platform here on Gunsite.

I modernised my AUG A3 Z with the custom rail and case deflector provided by One Source Tactical/ Suarez International. Gabe Suarez saw the potential of modernising the AUG to a high quality so that it could be used in modern shooting styles and designed and perfected the upgrades..

The enhancement allows it to shot from the weak shoulder for rh shooter. The longer rail provides for limted eye relief optics like the ACOG to be utilised and for proper placement of RDS and magnifier.

The new longer rail and the standard A3 rail.

Enhanced - Trigger Tamer - crisp break and much better than stock.

Ah yep, the stock trigger is really poo. Like I said, it feels almost like an Xbox 1 controller, such a long travel before it breaks.

Out of interest, what do mags cost there?

The only mags available were the ones we imported and we have only done that once about 2 years ago.

So pretty much not an answer I can give now.

When we get Magpul AUG mags they will probably retail for around R400 - R450.

That's an excellent price. Here in NZ we get ripped off for everything that's sold locally. Steyr mags retail for $250 (ZAR 2,269.08) at the biggest firearm store which are well known for their grossly inflated margins.

Can get them privately for around R720 or less if one comes across some "liberated" NZDF mags.

Not much afaik. The ones I know of were imported by the previous distributor.

A member on Gunsite asked the current distributor to order him an A3 Z but afaik he pretty much gave up on that and bought a more sedate A1/A2 model.

Safari and Outdoor had Styer AUG's for sale recently.
