Default Transporting firearms for someone else?

I know I can get a safe storage permit to store someone else's firearms in my safe, but is it possible to legally transport a firearm for someone else? I would like to transport a firearm from PE to Capetown for my brother if it is legally possible.

Unfortunately not practical. You need a dealer's licence (perhaps dealer's competency would suffice, not sure?) or a tranporter's permit. The transporter's permit is a rather technical thing to obtain, which is why only RAM has one.

    So... Rather use RAM.

I always thought RAM had a dealer's license?

Is it not possible for your DFO to issue a transport permit? It will obviously be for a specific FA, date and addresses.

Form 520(b) on the SAPS website is for the permission to transport a firearm. This sounds very confusing because even a minor can apply. Nothing is mentioned of temporary nature or how long it is valid.

That's for a transporters permit, like what RAM has.

Then the part about giving permission to a minor should not be there.

Minor, in terms of the FCA, means under 21. The provision is there so people under 21 can start this type of business.

I do not think a 520(b) will be issued for an ad hoc transport.
