Armed Robbery on a Mountain Bike
"MTB ride on Saturday 31st May 2014 from Ongegund, last few km's before end of session. Armed gunman and 2 others stopped myself and took cellphone, car keys, oakleys and bike.
Fortunately they did not have a clue what a GOPRO was and this is the evidence that will assist in their procecution!"
Some great footage of the criminals in Somerset West.
It also poses the question of carrying and cycling, and what action to take in this scenario.

Re: Armed Robbery on a Mountain Bike
I carry when I cycle. He had a firearm in his hand running at him, and pointed at him. I would have fed him lead.

Re: Armed Robbery on a Mountain Bike
Difficult to do when you have nothing to shoot with, but I hear you.
There has been a real plague of violent crime in SW as of late, and it has been getting progressively worse...or so it feels. I want to tear my hair out about some of the things the people write in the Somerset West Facebook group: why don't the police help us? What is happening to our beautiful little town? Are we not safe anywhere anymore? I've been trying to spread the gospel, and there have been one or two takers, but the rest have their heads firmly up rectum.
I live in Libtard Ville: City of Victims.

Re: Armed Robbery on a Mountain Bike
Sorry this happened to you. How far did you have to walk back to sivilisation? Could they have been following you or is it a popular biking spot for them to just wait for someone to pass?
Was that a BHP?

Eish, that was hectic. Could have gone either way.
Glad you are ok.
When i rode my bike i carried too, but in the camel bak. The issue would be how the hell would i get to it in time.
Lots to think about!!

Re: Armed Robbery on a Mountain Bike
Thanks for sharing, again why I say if you carry while cycling it must be quickly accessible. I use to do a lot of MTB alone , now I try riding with company or less secluded routes.

Re: Armed Robbery on a Mountain Bike
The OP does not seem to be the victim here, it is a quote from the story!
Never the less, a few holes in those POS would not be wasted.
