    For say, three days of handgun and two of carbine, IF they will absorb the travel and lodging / transportation / ammo costs for themselves and someone can furnish weapons here, R10,000 each would actually be a great price. If they did the permitting and brought their own weapons and ammo, it would be an unbelievable price.

    They would charge about R10,000 INSIDE the U.S., and you would have to absorb your own transportation costs and lodging unless you lived close to the range where the classes were presented. Add the costs for 2000rd of new handgun ammo and 1500rd of new carbine ammo (they do niot want you to shoot reloads...too many problems) and a week off from work and now you see what guys in the states pay for top tier training.

    I have told you many times before, Swattie...you work far too cheap.

    Sticking my neck out here;
    I think that South Africans are of the perception that it is better to train with someone who comes from somewhere else (USA etc) than with our local guys.

    Reasons may be South African trainers have not built up a reputation or cant do slick marketing campaigns OR they have simply acquired bad reputation.

    Whatever the reason I cannot afford those sort of fee's (R10000.00) I have kids to feed etc etc.
    Recent studies show that 1 out of every 3 liberals are just as dumb as the other 2

    Frankly, I think you can get much of what you want / need with the top- tier of SA trainers. The classes will not be as ammo intensive, etc.but there are some very good trainers in SA. The market is small here and fees are low. I have had the honor of training with Swattie but am certain there are others as well...I personally think the best SA trainers undervalue their training by a large margin. They may not be as 'up' on some techniques as others but they DO know the SA situation, and that is a big plus IMO.

    Received and watched Art of the Dynamic Handgun. Excellent production and structure. Haley and Costa can run handguns up there with the best of them. I would recommend it to anyone who carries a handgun for SD. Even if you can't get to a trainer, there is enough material in here to keep you going for a while. Great value for money. As an aside, I also bought Aerial Platform Operations, and even though there's probably no chance of me shooting from a helicopter anytime soon, it's still interesting reference material (plus you get to see a .50, SAW and other goodies being fired airborne so a big thumbs up for gun porn factor!).

    It is outstanding. The first disc on it's own is probably worth the money.
