Question Who promotes sport shooting in RSA?

PMP is one of the biggest brass plants in the southern hemisphere.
Do they promote local sport shooting?

Who also supply almost all of the UK defence industry with partially drawn brass components (Radway Green).
They used to sponsor the ProAmm competitions, but no main stream shooting sport that I know of (I'll be very happy if I am proved wrong).

Frontier Bullets and Ocean Basket are pretty big sponsors of action pistol sports like IPSC and IDPA.

GLOCK / Benhard Agencies has been one on the main sponsors towards the IDPA Africa Championship presented by SADPA over a number of years already. Thanks Nicky

For a full list of sponsors who have contributed towards champs sponsorship, please refer to sadpa web site at: www.sadpa.co.za

Unfortunately the big guys such as PMP and Somchem do not really seam very intrested at all!

PMP missed out on a large quantity of primers which went to SADPA /IDPA shooters recently at very good pricing.
The mother land being supported, rather than local being lekker!
    Sad really!

I have approached PMP on a number of occassions for sponsorship of IDPA, etc. Everytime the reply was that it is not viable for them!

We are indeed fortunate enough to have companies and individuals that do sponsor us, e.g. Sig Sauer, Glock, Wilson Combat, NGA, ARMS and numerous local companies, not neccesarily all in the gun trade, that step up and support us on an ongoing basis.

I would rather support one of our loyal sponsors than spend my money with a company that is to shortsighted to support the shooting sports in SA.

I believe it should not be left to only sponsors to promote our sport but all the sporting codes who are under the umbrella of SASSF are in fact responsible to promote the shooting sport.

Some of the shooting codes are doing a good job as can be seen by the number of members they have.

I would like to see more involvement from SASSF in this very important aspect of our sport.

My experience has been that most shooters in fact become interested in shooting once being introduced by a member of a club to a particular shooting discipline / code.

The days of the military and police being highly involved in the shooting sport has dwindled considerably.

I can recall the days when you would attend their Open Championships and all the ammo was supplied free, gratis and for nothing and top quality target ammo as well.

I take my hat off to the companies who are willing to sponsor the shooting sport WELL DONE.

    Who of us support PMP?
I think they are getting what they deserve!
Vote with your wallet as far as possible.

By the way the primers that came in via Nic Yale were cheaper than PMP, after freight and custom duties!

Nic Yale sold the entire shipment of 1 million primers without even braking a swet!

Agreed. I will NOT use any PMP product whatsoever, even their brass. I refuse to support them as I feel their attitude sucks towards sport shooters and their products leave much to be desired (esp. their sh*tty carry ammo).

Get realistic folks - PMP sell hundreds of thousands of rounds overseas - us not buying their stuff means nothing.

Fully agree with the sentiment tho - ridiculous that the imported stuff is cheaper than local !!

If all the gun owners in S.A stop buying PMP products, that may just be the turning point regarding our local market. I'll buy quality imported components/ammo before I'll buy anything PMP.
